Sheppard's pie

Bah bah! Sheppard's pie! More like moo moo! I should have tried mixing it with some ground lamb. Hmm. Next time!

Please make sure you drain. I didn't lol so I dabbled the juices away and baked it until it was firm and crisp on top.

Breakfast in bed

This is one of the cutest things. Thanks Eric :)... I feel smittened.

Homemade cheeseburger

Beer soaked ground beef (It tenderizes the meat). Patty it up.  Grill it, in this case.. pan-fry it.  Warm bun.  Melt cheese.  Garnish with veggies and sauce. Yum!  I doubled the cheese on this bitch cause I'm a mothereffing cheese lover.  GET IT.

Exploring the city

Today... I had a date with the city =]. I mean I had a tour guide too! Awesome! The plan was to go to AGO. Art gallery of Ontario. That didn't end up happening because I was busy exploring the restaurants lol. Typical. I got to walk around downtown and learned a lot so I guess it made up for it! Now I feel like I'm a real Torontarian! I'm adjusting...

I've been thinking and kinda researching on school. I need to find a loophole to attending for JAN 12. Winter semester. Not fall! Ay! I hope to God I didn't screw myself over. I looked at Ryerson, a very prestige fashion school... Should I attempt at creating a portfolio? And then there OCADU. That would also be the top... Is it weird to be excited?

I missed my girls so much... I had to go enjoy some bubble tea.  One way of feeling closer to home! <3 cause they're bbt fiends.  We used to go a few times a week.

Under the weather

Sniff sniff. Other than surviving on a sushi lunch. I had this =]

The cherry blaster... toats!

I asked the lady at the butcher shop for some change for my toonie, so she gave me two loonies and explained to me how she can't give away her quarters as she was handing me two loonies. I walked out disappointed and went home realizing I got the sausages for free. The sausages were phenomnomnomenal and I can never go back. KARMA....

Garlic parmesan homemade fries with marinara

I had this on the strip of Grand Bend (half way through Toronto and Windsor, in the London area).  Anyways, it was phenomenal.  Genius... especially for a garlic lover! <3

Shrimp, Pork and Napa Spring rolls

Not enough money to buy cabbage... so I used napa (Chinese cabbage).  Lol We have no money for cabbage but we have scallops, shrimp... chicken... and everything else in this apartment.  LAWLS.  Pretty sure Charlie from the Chocolate factory only had cabbage soup.  MMM.  (NTS)

Another time-consuming asian recipe!  Usually my mama makes the spring rolls... and I help.  But today, I'm a big girl now.  I used the filling from the har gow... and added napa (which was not as great as real cabbage), rolled it and fried it myself!

I asked Eric to go steal some plum sauce from McD but he said he was almost home so I had to compromise and use the leftover nuoc nam sauce from yesterday.  Geniussss!

EFF THIS SHIZ.  I paired it with some Homemade hot and sour soup!  I ain't putting it in a new blog! =@.  I didn't have the perfect ingredients so it was as delish as I wanted it to be.  So I guess I have the whole pot to eat by myself.

Sour rice noodle soup

Beef balls (not actual balls assholes), tomato, bamboo, lettuce, green onions, rice noodles.  I can live off this type of food forever.  I mean it people!

I just used the leftover noodles from Goi Cuon stuff and the lettuce in this meal.  Damnit, now you guys knowww I missed another blog!  Bahaha.  >.<  I think you guys should know by now that I can't commit to this blog fully until you guys start making it big for me.  Thanks!

Steamed Perch with ginger and onion

Mama always made this and papa always poured the delicious soy sauce/fish mineral juice (ignore my terms) onto my rice.  I always thought it was the BEST thing ever.  Now that I'm away from home... this fish was the closest thing to my childhood and family.

When I have kids... I'm going to feed them this bahaha.  So much nutrients/protein.  MMM <3 OXO

Homemade Har Gow

Where are my manners?  My roommate... named Eric... LOVES Dim Sum.  There's been several occasions where the words "dim sum" was used in a sentence... and his eyes lit up like a barbie doll.  LOL.

Maybe that was just funny to me.  Anyways, story was when we were grocery shopping... he "lit up" again and asked if I can make Har Gow.  It sounded like a great challenge.... I took it like a champ.

There were a few technical difficulties... BUT it was pretty successful...

Chop chop CHOMP.
I ended up putting this in the fridge to marinate it over-night!
This bag of rice flour had the WORST instructions ever.  I'm Cantonese myself... and the english and Cantonese didn't match.  So I wasted the whole thing and had to make my own batch.  I got lucky that it was only flour, corn starch and water.  I hate you.

Voila!

There not super har gow shaped but don't judge!  I'm pooped out from this challenge... this ruined my dim sum eating abilities.  I'm going to appreciate it more and eat slower... not that I eat fast... at all.

Goi Cuon

Yummy, Vietnamese Summer Rolls.  Pretty much... rice rolls with a spring roll concept. SHABAM.  Good breakfast.

I made two sauces for it.  One is a nuoc nam sauce (sweet, garlicky and salty sauce) and a peanut sauce.  I personally don't like peanuts so hands down on the nuoc nam sauce.

Beef pot pie

C'est le halloween! Went to Kensington market area... Pretty cool... I love fish markets! I love oysters even more! Mmm.
Yes.. HELLO KITTY IS BACK.  GANGSTA STYLE!  I actually went out today like this! There were a lot of people commenting but I forgot I had whiskers and a bow on my forehead.

Finally went grocery shopping!  Shopped on Spadina (Toronto's Chinatown)... Got some great deals.  Been craving beef pot pie... YUM! So I had to make it...  It was quite unorthodox of me to use phyllo wrap as the top.. but hey... don't judge!  I just compromised =]

Spinach pies

First time playing with phyllo roll...

This was phenomnomnomenal! Warm Goat cheese... Melted with spinach and onions...
